Dog Training Steps

If you want your dog to be behaved like some well trained dogs whose performance you have seen in Television or in dog  show, then what your dog need to behave in the manner you want is proper training.  Every Dog have the inner desire to please his master and one have to use this desire to train the dog to act in well behaved manner that you like.  The trained dog will be happier as it knows how to make please his master and as well as the master is happy has is behave in way which he/she likes.

Like humans not all dog have same level of learning capacity some dog have too intellectual and gasp the train in short period and some dogs need regular training and learn it sooner or later. The main the master should know before training the dog is “how the dog knows that it have pleased the master in acting particular way”, in general a dog understand that it pleased his master, if the dog get some reward after doing or behaving in a particular. So when your dog does any behavior which you want your dog to repeat that behavior then encourages the dog with some reward, generally a special food which your dog likes most. So if you reward your dog after a retain behavior of your dog then believe that you like that behavior and try to it again.

Consistency of reward is important, whenever it does the behavior give the same reward, if you didn’t gave reward or gave different reward then there are chances that your  dog that is behavior not pleased you and it may stop repeating it.

Dog are like a kid, you need to say thing repeatedly until your dog understand and also each command to your dog should be simple and in one word like “eat”, “come”. When you are saying these commands initially to your dog do that along with psychical gesture. Let say you want your dog to eat only when you say “eat” for that first offer the food and along with that say “eat” to your dog, regularly do this procedure after some time the dog relate the word ”eat” with the food in the plate, so later even if the food is in plate the dog will wait for you to say the word “eat”.

Another very important thing in Dog training is patient and continuity. The above example won’t happen in a day or two but it takes month so you should have patient and regularly repeat the same procedure and never change the command word or process in the middle it may confuse your dog.

And another thing to be noted is the training to be done on regular thing. If you train the dog 5 days a week and on evening better continue this as it set the dog mentally get ready for training. It’s bad idea to train your dog whenever you feel that your are free or have time to be around your dog.
